What's new in GTCTL 5.9
A last minute addition to GT Power 13 is the ability to limit a caller's
total time on the system per day. GTCTL 5.9 has a revised user file
report which includes a new field called 'Use' which shows this new
limit. Further, the Sysop has the ability to modify this field with the
edit function. 'Use' shows the number of minutes used this calendar
date. The GTPASSWD.BBS file contains the actual daily limit allowed for
each access level.
What's new in GTCTL 5.8
This release conforms fully to the needs of GT Power 13.00. Minor
modifications have been made to assure compatability with prior versions
of GT. User interface enhancements include (finally) the fact that now,
after each update of a User record, the program returns to the update
menu rather that going all the way back to the opening menu.
What's new in GTCTL 5.71-5.72
The Netmail Summary Report at the end of Status Report 2 has been
removed and a new Status Report (#4) has been provided for Netmail and
enhanced to include data for the last Netmail run in addition to the
totals for the month. Further, the logic has been improved to properly
calculate the number of mailbags that have been forwarded and the number
of Bad Calls received. Finally, an error trap has been included so that
the Backup/Archive function will not abort if you do not have MAILOUT or
MAILIN directories.
What's new in GTCTL 5.7
In support of Netmail, the Sysop may use a new funtion in this program
to assign each user of at least a certain authorization level, any
number of credits desired so that those users may utilize the ability to
send messages out of the Local Net (ie, Long Distance). Please note,
this facility is a part of main menu option 4 and is visible only if you
have selected a Netmail directory. Also, the use of the carrot (^)
symbol in a directory path is now also supported (meaning no Private
messages allowed).
What's new in GTCTL 5.61-5.64
A series of releases that attempted to find ways to properly find a GT
file used to verify that GT is properly configured before operation
turned out to discover that a few users have very unusual system setups,
instead. Hopefully, this release makes GTCTL quite insensitive to these
situations.
What's new in GTCTL 5.6
This release cures a bug seen by those users who have their dialing
directories located in a directory other than the main GT directory and
it includes additions to Status Report #2 which shows a summary of
Netmail activity for the month specified.
What's new in GTCTL 5.5
With the introduction of Netmail, GTCTL status reports have had to be
updated by obtaining information from both the GT.LOG and GTNET.LOG
files. This release does so. Additionally, a new Sysop capability
exists to mark a message as 'Recurring'. This means the same as 'Kill
Protected' with one additional subtlety: Netmail will not mark the
message as 'MAILED' when it is bagged so that the same message will be
sent every time a Netmail hour occurs. (For example, to do a File
Request from a Node that updates daily.) GTCTL now supports that flag.
What's new in GTCTL 5.4
The Add Message Control Header function has been entirely rewritten in
order to allow the creation of the added message referred to. Note,
this new facility requires QEDIT to be in your DOS PATH. Also, if the
message already exists at the time the header record is added then this
function will allow it to be edited.
Minor cosmetic changes to main menu were also made.
What's new in GTCTL 5.3
The Delete Specified Messages function has been modified to recognize
Netmail message areas. If a Netmail area is selected then this function
is selected, you will be offered a new option: To Delete MAILED
messages. Note, only those messages that have been MAILED to a Net/Node
other than your own are deleted. Further, you may elect to override the
Kill Protected flag on these messages.
What's new in GTCTL 5.24
A bug that would abort the program if you selected 'Delete inactive
users' option, specified number of days, then select 0 (no limit). It
has been corrected.
What's new in GTCTL 5.23
The display of Netmail charges and credits is now correct on the user
file long form report.
What's new in GTCTL 5.22
File sizes are now rounded up to avoid zero length indication on short
files.
Files without suffixes are now properly handled by the Revise FILES.BBS
routine.
Rcv'd message flag has been renamed to Read.
Credits and charges are now only shown in Netmail message areas.
Revise FILES.BBS now updates the date on each entry only if the date in
the entry is earlier than the actual file creation/update date.
When deleting inactive users the program will leave BANned users in the
file.
Backup/ARC function now includes the Netmail Log file as well as GT.LOG.
What's new in GTCTL 5.21
A major bug was corrected in move/copy message function.
There is a new default option established for the Backup/ARC function. When
you elect to use ARC or PKARC the program will create the output files then
check to see if the number of sets of such backup files exceeds this default.
If so, the extra sets are erased.
User charges and credits are not shown unless the message base has been
marked as a Netmail message base.
What's new in GTCTL 5.2
You may now enter a limit to the 'delete inactive user' option. This
specifies that only those users who have called less than some specified
number of times are to be deleted if inactive.
A bug has been corrected where the file entry in a FILES.BBS file which
has been moved to another directory was not automatically removed.
Whenever you create (add new) a message header or user record the
program will now automatically place the current date and time into
those records. These may, of course, be edited to new values.
What's new in GTCTL 5.1
There was a bug in GTCTL 5.0 in the Revise FILES.BBS function that
resulted in the current date being written for all files listed.
That has been corrected.
